Tuchel Questions Home Fan Atmosphere Despite Comfortable Win Over Wales.

The England head coach shared his disappointment that the Three Lions team did not enjoy stronger support from the home fans during their commanding triumph over Wales on Thursday evening.

The manager was pleased to see his squad continue their winning momentum, with goals from Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Bukayo Saka inside the initial stages deciding the match. Yet, he was displeased with the energy at the iconic venue.

“We had one and a half sessions to get ready against a well-trained team and we did very well,” Tuchel commented. “It could have been 5-0 up at half-time. We couldn’t score the additional goals. There was little noise. There was no any energy back from the stands. Our team gave their all to win.”

“What more can you give in the first quarter? We prevented them escape. If you hear just Wales fans for 30 minutes, it’s sad because the team deserved more support today.”

“I support my words. We cannot do more than leading three goals up in a rivalry match. I would have wished for a bit more backing in moments where it becomes tough.”

“After halftime, to cheer us on, there was a bit too much backing for the opposition. It might have aided us to recharge, but that’s football and so be it.”

Selection Choices Justified by Performance

Apart from risking a dispute among fans, Tuchel also created controversy by omitting Bellingham and Phil Foden from his team selection. Yet the move was backed up by Morgan Rogers excelling in the attacking midfield role and netting his maiden goal for his country.

“That’s his style,” the head coach explained. “He operates as an attacking midfielder and he is competing for his position.”

Bellamy Seeks Lessons from Defeat

Craig Bellamy expressed hope that his team, who host Belgium in a key World Cup qualifier on next week, learn from their awful first-half display.

“This is why I scheduled this match,” the manager stated. “I need to see our standing. Where do we want to go? Who do we want to be? This performance gives me motivation.”

Fitness Worry for Watkins

Ollie Watkins was withdrawn at half-time after hitting a goalpost and may miss out when England play Latvia in Riga in a World Cup qualifying match on next week.
